About The Centre


Market Weighton Bowls Club is the main user of the building and they manage the Centre on behalf of The Trust.  Club Members are all volunteers who help in general maintenance, cleanliness of the facility and the up-keep of the green.

The Muriel Massey Hall can accommodate four mats for the Indoor Short Mat Bowls, with the smaller hall being used for meetings, social events and an additional area for Short Mat Bowls if required. 

The Outdoor Green has six rinks surrounded by attractive spacious grounds and adequate car parking facilities for most activities. 

The Aims 

To promote the playing of Indoor and Lawn bowls, to facilitate the use of the Centre for cultural and social activities as may be approved by the Trustees of the Robert B Massey Memorial Trust through the Management Committee.

How do you start with a game of Bowls?

For those wishing to start playing bowls, Members are available to outline the various opportunities. The club offer new bowlers three free taster sessions before making a decision of deciding to become a Regular User The only requirement for the taster sessions is a pair of flat soled shoes for outdoor bowls and either flat soled shoes or socks for indoor bowls.  Bowls can be borrowed initially subject to availability.

Rules and Affiliations

Market Weighton Bowls Club is affiliated to:

  • English Womens Bowling Association
  • English Bowling Federation
  • English Womens Bowling Federation
  • Humberside Sports Association

These bodies govern the leagues and competitions members participate in and they adhere to the policies regarding fair play, etc.

Market Weighton Bowls Club has its own rule book and etiquette guide, which each member is given when joining.
